Union School District
Get to know Tricia...
Tricia Ciampa serves on the Pioneer Union School District Board of Trustees with a strong commitment to supporting public education and giving back to the community that shaped her. After several years of active involvement with the Parent Teacher Organization, she stepped into Board service as a way to help strengthen the district and ensure that all students receive the highest quality education. Her focus is on building a school environment where every student feels safe, supported, and valued.
She attended Pioneer Elementary School for grades four through six and Mountain Creek Middle School for seventh and eighth grade. She graduated from El Dorado High School and later earned two Bachelor of Arts degrees: one in Spanish and one in Communications with an emphasis in Journalism. She currently owns and operates a grant writing consulting business, a field she has worked in since 2005, primarily serving housing and social service organizations.
Her goals as a board member include expanding academic and enrichment opportunities for students, such as increasing elective options at Mountain Creek and broadening after-school programs at Pioneer. She is also committed to supporting efforts to improve student academic performance and maintaining the strong sense of community that makes the district special.
She has deep personal ties to the district: she is a former student, her mother taught in both Pioneer and Mountain Creek for many years, and she now co-coaches the Cross Country team with her mom. She also remains active on both the Parent Teacher Organization and the Parent Music Coalition. Outside of school, she enjoys traveling and learning about different cultures. Her educational journey includes studying abroad at Oxford University and in the Dominican Republic, and she continues to explore new places whenever she can.
