PIONEER
Union School District
Food Services
Free student breakfast and lunch will continue to be provided for all students. We still need every family to complete the free/reduced meal application form as it is critical for specialized funding for programs that increase and improve services for students. All aspects of the food service program, including menu planning, meal preparation, food allergies, special dietary requests, and staffing, are carefully managed to ensure quality and safety.

For special dietary needs or allergy accommodations, a written request signed by a state-licensed health professional must be submitted before any adjustments can be made.

Charging Policy
All students are served the same meal options, regardless of meal benefit or account status. No student will be publicly identified based on account balances and/or free and reduced status. An automated email is sent on a weekly basis to parents or guardians of students with charges on their accounts. Parents whose students have accumulated significant cafeteria debt will be advised of the free and reduced meal program

Refund Policy
All refunds to student cafeteria accounts must be requested from the Food Services department. To request a refund please call the Food Service Director at 530-620-7210. When students leave the district (e.g. move away, promote to high school), any student balances not requested after 30 days of exiting the district, will be retained by the district and considered a donation.
